My laptop won't go into hibernate mode.

anyone have any idea what could cause this?

my laptop used to go into hibernate mode whenever i closed it, but all of a sudden it stopped going into hibernate mode. weird, even if i go to start shut down and choose the hibernate option it still won't go into hibernate mode.

any ideas will be appreciated.


btw, my laptop is a toshiba Satellite 2805-s603
 
In XP, there is a setting to turn Hibernate Mode on and off. I don't remember about 98 or ME, but I think there was one there too. If you know when it started not working - use System Restore to return to a date propr to that time. Something has changed it - probably in the registry. I am on my 5th laptop since 1995 - and have always disabled Hibernate because it is so unreliable. What's worse than not activating, is hibernating and not waking up. 🙂
