My Laptop Monitor doesn't turn on!!!

I have a Gateway Laptop SOLO 1450 and when I turn on the laptop the computer seems to be running as usual but the monitor just doesn't turn on. Any solution for this problem?

You probably need to check the connection to the laptops mainboard. Usually it is located near the top left hand side on most models, near the hinge. It can vary. It is just a ribbon that could pull out easy.

I already checked that situation; in fact, everything related to connections seems to be working just fine.

when did it stop working? have you hooked this laptop up to a projector recently? I know my company used to have a laptop that you had to change some setting via keystrokes so it was no longer trying to send video to the projector.

Yeah, try using the function key and your fkey that says lcd/crt on it. You toggle between modes using that. If that doesn't work, there is a pin hole on the side of your laptop that is the reset switch. stick a needle in there to hard reboot. If that doesn't do it, it may be bad.

Try connecting to an external monitor. If that works, then my guess is that the backlight of your LCD has burned out. They do have a finite life - just like any light bulb.
