My laptop connects to wireless network but no internet

There are some hot spots all around my University Campus. I'm able to connect to their network but I get no internet access.

I was told that this was a Vista issue but I'm not buying that. If I can connect to the network, I can connect to the internet also, just like the XP computers, but...

Why can't I?

Thoughts, advice, suggestions...

See if your card has a vista driver and use the utility provided by the card instead of vista's fubarred built in stuff.
