battery could be shot like the other guy said, try to clean the contacts between the battery and the laptop, that was the problem with my laptop

Laptop batteries last 2-3 years in many cases. Their lives can be prolonged by regular calibration periodically . . . to include before 1st use. Most people don't bother with that and they end up replacing them.

It is also possible that the charging circuit can go bad on the laptop's mobo, but odds are it is simply a battery dying of old age.

this stupid thing was it was working a week ago. laptop was on battery and i let it go into hibernation mode and left it for a week. when i came back, battery was dead. only thing i can think of was that i left it in a cold room (~50 F) during that week. :(

any unorthadox way of reviving a dead battery?

bring the battery to batterys plus
they can test the battery
one side effect of testing a battery if it isnt bad is that u get it back charged!

sometimes just leaving the battery out and the laptop unplugged for a few days can fix things
i dont know why just one of those voodoo things
