My laptop automatically resumes from standby....wtf?

Im using windows xp sp2 on my sony k33 vaio laptop and it seems that whenever i put it in standby, it comes back within a matter of seconds. it shuts off the hard drive etc. but a few seconds later, it would wake and go back into windows.

i cant locate the problem, maybe its just an OS issue? i noticed this started after i reformatted which leads me to believe its a setting somewhere. no, i dont have to hit any keys or move the mouse or anything at all. it just comes back. and i have no idea....🙁
