Hey all, first my system was 90% dependable, now it is completely fuXored.
I have a KT7-Raid (not the 'A' series) with a 900mhz T-bird, that recently developed a problem where sometimes it won't boot. I can tell when it is not going to boot successfully because it never gives that one "I'm on my way phunk" beep right after I power it on. Everything spins up, but it never gives that beep and never inits the display or the keyboard or the MS optical usb mouse. But, if I power it off, let it sit for 10 seconds and power it on again, then it always powers up fine.
Also, sometimes it will boot w/a multi of 9.0 and sometimes it will boot w/a multi of 9.5 (which is what I had it successfully oc-ed to for months and months.)
So, I thought that the not-booting-sometimes problem could be a crappy NIC, so I bust open the box to fix it up and I decide to redo the pencil-trick to make sure all the L1s are unlocked. I also put a tiny piece of scotch tape over the L1 bridges after I penciled them, to keep the graphite in there. (The tape also covered the bridges below L1. Perhaps a bad idea?)
So, now I get no beep and definitely no post. I've pulled the drives and the nic with no change.
Please help!
