Between myself, Green-Sum and DHL Damage Investigator we're working it out - I hope ;o(

It happens, but it sucks. Hope it works out. I bought my Q270 from Green-Sum and it was a painless transaction. Did the box show signs of damage as well? That is important as DHL likely won't approve of a claim if the box is in good condition. They'd probably claim it was that way before it was packaged.

DHL sub contracted to Muskoka Delivery. The Shipping Box is plainly penetrated by what appears to be a Cube Van Lock Door Latch or perhaps a Fork Lift Prong.

I did not notice the box damage as it was wrapped in Bubble Wrap and filed a Damage Report within minutes after opening it to Green-Sum and DHL - Should know by Monday or Tuesday what the verdict is - If not I'll get e-Bay evolved.

What got me is that the girl delivering the Item did not request that I sign for it and it took 3 days before the Tracking closed. That was Monday - Now it's Thursday.

Well, at least there is documented damage to the carton itself. I know at times the carrier claims you did it or someone did it prior to shipping without some clear indication of damage on the carton it was shipped in.

Good Luck.

I have had dealings with Green-Sum and would say they will do everything they can to get that sorted. Sadly if the courier company that did the damage does not accept liability then Green-Sum will have to take the hit as it is his reputation on the line which is a very good one. They normally have insurance for incidents like this to safeguard themselves and the buyer. I just ordered the exact same model from Green-sum half an hour ago! Thankyou for sharing and my sincerest condolences :( Ill be giving my QX2710 a good once over before signing off on it after seeing this!

Most places don't require signatures anymore. Only if its a hazard package. Bought some chemicals online and had to sign before the lady was a bit confused as to why it was being sent in a heavy weird looking box. I told her it was a alien.

I've heard the korean panels have to be shipped back on your dime?
What's the purpose of shipping the display back when it's obviously totaled as this one is?

To follow up a Muskoka Courier showed up here yesterday and inspected the damage and confirmed that was damaged in shipping. Green-Sum used the PIC's I sent him to launch a Damage in Shipment Claim to DHL from his end.

I've yet to pay a CDN Duty bill on this Monitor. I wonder who is responsible to pay the Duty on the replacement Monitor - DHL? As they would now be considered the purchaser of the new item to replace the damaged one.

Green-Sum advertises that he is in association with DHL. You would think once there is proof of a DHL Delivery Damage that Green-Sum would automatically ship another unit at no cost to the client and DHL would cover the cost of Customs and re-impurst him.

There should be no battle between Green-Sum and DHL other then I simply provide proof that the Item was Damaged in Shipment, which I have done - So Green-Sum has no argument other then to send me another QX2710 Matte DVI-D.

I've yet to hear from the DHL Investigator,Isthikar 1-855-512-9090 in Toronto from my end were I've left several messages on his answering mashine to contact me.

If I do not have a positive response from Green-Sum before Tuesday, I will get e-Bay Protection involved as this has dragged out long enough.

I am just glad I got my DGM monitor, it was only £50 more expensive than a Korean import with 3 year warranty. (£50 more after taking off import tax on the Korean monitor).

Nothing yet except that I received, this Monday, notice a week later that the Order was delivered - Rather late, I would think.

At 2:00 this Monday I phoned the DHL Investigator, Isthikar - and still got "the Agent is busy" mud, so I talked to another DHL Agent. He (ADAM) explained to me that when the Claim goes through Green-Sum will be reimbursed and the Item will be resent as "REPLACEMENT".

I asked about the Brokerage Charges and ascertained that if I am charged Duty again that I submit the Bill to DHL Adam confirmed this.

So far so Good but its taking awhile ;o)

I should have a positive respective tomorrow - If not - I will phone eBay Protection on Wednesday.

I'll keep you Posted - What's the Limit 15 Days?

It's been exactly 1 week to day with claim filed to DHL 20 minutes and 5 days after providing Green-Sum with PIC's of the Damage after the Un-Boxing last Monday?

What's even stranger is that I've been posting the incident at Over-Clock.Net/[Official] The Korean PLS Monitor Club (Qnix & X-Star) and they will not allow me to post any more - Seems my threads are in the Moderators Hands: http://www.overclock.net/t/1384767/official-the-korean-pls-monitor-club-qnix-x-star

Yes, I very much appreciate your story because sooner or later all of us may have an unlucky delivery that is damaged during delivery, without the opportunity to refuse delivery after it's left damaged on our doorstep.

Nice to see how you navigate the entire process.

Dear Ron,

As discussed, we claimed to DHL. So they will pick up the monitor. The attached file is the returning invoice. Please tell the local DHL person in charge, and let them pick it up.

The person in charge:
+1 905 4525800
Natasha.Dharaj

If you have any problems, please let us know.
Thank you.

Best regards,
Green-Sum

------------------------------------------------------------------

Upon receipt of the above I again attempted to get in touch with the DHL Investigating Agent Isthikar.

This is a summary of what transpired concerning the phone call to DHL as noted in my response to Green-Sum's email posted above:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Called Isthikar again Not available talked to another Agent Helen 2:45 Wednesday.

Told her Isthikar does not exist as I've been trying to get in touch with him for over a week.

She gave me his personal #1 855-512-9090 I told her it's the same # I have and can not get through.

I reminded her that both Green-Sum a DHL Advertise to work in association for replacement of damage Items in shipment and I should not be in this mess.

I told her I received a Custom Invoice from Green-Sum for return shipping of the damaged Monitor with a DHL contact Person In Charge Natasha.Dharaj Phone# 1 905 452 5800. A # that does not work - Helen told me the number is outdated.

She asked me if I have a copy of the Damage Assessment - I said NO, as the Muskoka People who inspected the damage made me sign a paper and left without giving me anything.

"SHE SAID THAT SHE WOULD HAVE A COPY OF THE DAMAGE REPORT EMAILED TO BOTH ME AND GREEN-SUM" and we will receive it shortly.

I asked who pays for the return Shipment and wondered why Green-Sum would want the display back as it is totaled. She said I would have to discuss that with Green-Sum but if he wants it back he would have to pay for the return shipping - So what's the purpose of this "RETURN INVOICE FORM" you sent me. It plainly has nothing to do with my REPLACEMENT Display.

You apparently have very weak communication with your associative shipper DHL.

I can't understand why you are holding back from sending me a REPLACEMENT QX2710 Matte display when DHL has confirmation that the Item was Damaged in Shipment and you have the PIC's of the damage. The Display has plainly been crushed by a Cargo Door closing on it as the latch pierced the boxing shattering the Screen and Squished where the bottom of the door struck warping the Bezel. The Monitor is Totaled.

You advertize an association with DHL to guarantee delivery without damaging the items Customers buy. Other then providing access for DHL Inspectors to determine the damage (Which I have done), Shipping a Replacement should not be my issue as it is between you and DHL to arrange reimbursement of the Replacement to you.

A DHL Agent has explained to me that if I'm am charged Brokerage on the Replacement Display that I can refer the bill to them.

It's been over a week since I filed the Damage Report with proof of Damage caused by Shipping to both you and DHL, how much longer is this gong to take before I eventually file a Protection Report to eBay which will contain copies of all correspondence to date.

Thank you: Ron.

-------------------------------------------------

AN hour later I get a phone call from a DHL Agent "Omer" This is what transpired:

I thank him as this was the 1st contact where DHL had called me first.

He mentioned something about the Value being $120 I said I paid $282 and he said perhaps that is in shipping costs. I said whatever the value of the monitor is assest at is not my concern. The Value would be between Green-Sum and DHL. All I want is a Replacement.

I read him the above letter I sent to Green-Sum after my conversation with Helen an hour before.

He gave me Natash's Current # 1 877-452-3661 direct # 905-861-3647

I told him that I don't care who wants the Damaged Monitor as it's no good to me and reminded him that whatever the value of the monitor is is not my concern, all I want is the Replacement Monitor as guaranteed by Green-Sum and DHL if the monitor was damaged in shipment.

OMAR agreed.

He told me to get in contact with Natasha to-morrow to arrange whatever is to be done with the Broken monitor.

____________

I in turn eMail Green-Sum of the conversation I had with Omar

GEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you're making this too complicated and being far too anxious. If you can't handle the wait times in returning a damaged item and then getting a replacement, then don't cheap out next time and BUY FROM A CANADIAN/US RETAILER!

I've dealt with Green-Sum before and the display I received also had major issues and he sent me a return invoice as well. I had to fill out the declaration of export, send it to him and a few days later he gave me a refund. So he won't cheat you, he has a good reputation on eBay.

This is a perfect example of why I am incredibly hesitant to purchase a Korean Monitor off of Ebay or Amazon. Yeah, the monitors look great but if something goes wrong during shipping and the monitor gets damaged it seems to be a major headache dealing with getting a replacement. I really wish some of these monitors would start showing up at retailers in the US, or in your case in Canada.

If you look hard enough, there are some around normally, I got my DGM for £340 with delivery. Should be some already imported under different brands.

TWO THUMBS UP for Green-Sum as I did not get anywhere with my Damage report to DHL from my end.

Just Hope the DHL Currier's don't damage the replacement and Green-Sum gets reimbursed after all he is associated with DHL ;o)

By the way: I did have to send the Damaged Display back to Green-Sum through DHL - It was FREE - No Cost to me. Gotta say DHL has Fast Over-Sea Shipping - BUT - LOL

I got my Catleap in 3 days and it was in good condition. I don't think it's DHL as a company but some idiotwho can't load a truck right and handle packages correctly and doesn't care.

Good. I'm glad you got it settled. I am still using a Korean panel: a Samsung Syncmaster 2253BW 2ms (22" 1680X1050 at 60Htz). I've had it for 6 years now and it still displays like it's brand new!

There are some things that I will only buy at a brick-and-mortar shop and an LCD/LED is one of them.
