I have had chondromalicia since i was kid and it is really bugging me today. Its the first time i had it for 2 years. I went to the emergancy room for it on Friday, and the doctor just gave me a prescriptipon for Ibuprofen. My knee is really hurting me now and i can just varely walk. You think I should try a different doctor today (the on campus doctor), skip guitar class and maybe get some kretches or save the money and just tough it out and cry like a baby?

It doesn't hurt to get a second opinion.

As for relief, you could try an ointment like icy hot or a hot bath.

chrondomalicia (or chrondo, or chondro, i am not even sure) is a probalem that has to due with the cartiledge being to soft around teh knee area. As a result, peopel get a pain that is really hard to pin point. I t is usually a problem that leads to awful arthritis at older age. When i saw the doctor on Friday, he said that 10 years from now I will need surgery to replace something in my knee. I tried icy hot, but it does not do that much. I am taking the the ibuprofen my doctor prescribed for me (it's 600mg per pill, same as s 200Mg pills, some "precsription"

How old are you?

I have partially discoid meniscii. Not really serious or operable but since they're misshapen they've been smashed and cut up by my knees in a bad way. Orthopedist says likely knee replacement before I'm 50, possibly sooner because there is some free floating cartilege pieces that could cause my knees to lock.

I'm gonna be 20 in two weeks. Could this pain be a sign that I am getting to old? sigh🙁
It could also just be a change related to the weather.
