We ran across http://www.atowncalledpanic.com/ (A Town Called Panic). It was in French with English subtitles. Man, we have never laughed so much watching a show.


If you get a chance to see it, prepare for laughter.

I love a Town Called Panic, and recommend it to everyone I know. I've seen it English dubbed, with French accents.

It's sort of like stop-motion Monty Python on acid, and incredibly funny and well done, if you like that sort of humor. It certainly gets the award for most unique story.

IFC had it on a few days ago, and my library has it... if you like Monty Python check it out. Sounds dumb, but is incredibly good.

Saw it at a film festival, but thought it would show up somewhere eventually since the director is somewhat known. Maybe a little later in the year or something. Cute little movie.

In general I agree with you but in the from the 1960's through the 1980's there were a number of French horror films which border on pornography. Being a huge horror fan (especially vintage stuff) I put these films in their own sub-genre. I call it HorrorPorn. It is interesting to say the least. It is also the only films I can watch made by the French.
