My kids NEC monitor is kaput

Suddenly it went way out of focus and there is a blotch in the lower left corner. Usually when I clean the screen I spray a litttle cleaner on a cloth. This tine I spritzed a little fluid on the screen directly. I don't think any liquid ran down into the monitor but I'm not positive. Could this have cause the problem?

If so, did I void the waaranty?
