My keyboard Num Lock LED stays on when I shut down...

I just got my new PIII and Asus CUSL2-C up and running. The only problem is the num lock led. It stays on when I shut down from Windows. I'm sure there's some BIOS setting related to power that's involved, but I've disabled everything and it still stays on. Any ideas?

Shut off the power to the whole system instead of just letting it go to stand by. Have I ever mentioned how much I HATE APM? :|

Well, I do choose shut down rather than stand by. I'm going to fiddle with the bios some more.

Your idea of "shutting down" and mine are two different things. When you "shut down" it's merely going into a standby mode. There is still power to the PS. When I shut my PC down, I also turn off the power strip that it's all plugged into. That way there is no power bricks humming or power to the monitor either. I much prefer the old AT power standard...

Oh, I see what you're saying. What a pain in the ass that would be, since I turn off my computer a lot more nowadays. I still haven't come up with anything in the bios. I didn't have this problem with my old setup. :(

There's a jumper on the MB near the keyboard port, move it to cut power to the keyboard and mouse. This will turn off the light at shutdown, though you won't be able to turn on the PC from those peripherals.

Thanks Jaeger, I figured it might have been something like that, that's why I tried disabling it in the BIOS. I was flipping through the manual, but I didn't see the bit about jumpers. I'll give it a try next time I power down.
