my keyboard can no longer do combination commands

my keyboard (ms natural pro . . .) is messed up. you cant do alt-tab, alt-f4, ctrl-c, ctrl-alt-del, etc. and when i hold down control and try to select certain files out of a list, i cant select mutiple files- just all of them or one of them. this really starting to bug me so what the heck is wrong?! do i just need a new keyboard? i think that the keyboard isnt the culprit b/c all of the buttons work fine.
