Okay, I have had, for the last two days (and last week too)... NOTHING TO DO AT ALL.

My bosses are in meetings all day, and I just sit here surfing the web all day long. Since tonight I have to stay late (why, I don't know...), I will have more nothing to do.

I would appreciate if anybody can give me a heads-up on some ideas to keep myself busy at work. Games that aren't too crazy on screen (ie, MUDs), whatever you can think of.

Thanks in advance, I just need something to do. I played Legend of the Green Dragon MUD but it only lasts me like 5-10 mins, and I'm bored again.
 
Why on earth do they want you to stay late if there is nothing for you to do? I would ask them for something to do! I would ask someone! I have had to do that before, especially with summer jobs before I was a RN....I just simply said I had my work finished and what else would they like me to work on?
 
Go see if any of your co-workers need help with anything.

If the answer is no, they have nothing to do either, then the obvious choice is to have a checkers tournement on yahoo.

Yes, there is NOTHING to do, and they want me to stay late. I ask, and ask, and ask... either "nothing right now" or "come back later". I'm taking the initiative but I'm bored as fvck 🙁
 
I dont do a damn thing at work either. Budget proposals went in last week, but we can't order anything until July. Then I have a month and a half to migrate servers and install new applications before the new school year starts!!!!

I wish they would let us order things now and NOT wait until July when school begins the end of August!!!
For now, I'm heading out to lunch. 2 hour lunch that is!!! 🙂
 
Sounds like an internship where you are just given the resources to play (learn)... could be programming in a new language, play with graphics software, learn a database, etc. Get motivated.

When you're out on the street after they let you go (for lack of available work), at least then you'll have something to fall back on. MUDs were fun, but very pointless especially after months of playing the server just dies on you and you've lost all your hard work (can ya tell I'm holding a grudge? 😀)
 
I still need something to do. I can't really 'learn' anything here... it's just a crap job that I will hopefully be rid of in a month or so.
