get a bigger hard drive to put in it and clone the data from your old drive to the new one, should give you lots of room.

Get penis enlargement surgery already. An iPod and a nice house can only compensate for so much, lad.

Isn't Creative the only company offering a hdd bigger than 40gb? At any rate, 20-40 should be enough to, if not hold your entire collection (mine just crept past the 40gb mark, actually), at least hold plenty for listening purposes. If you wanted to use it as a backup for your collection, isn't that pretty much a no-go with ipods anyway? Something about deleting everything on the ipod if you try copying music to a computer other than the one you installed it on or somesuch...

I've owned an Ipod and while having my library on it, had a critical drive failure, here's what happened:
Downloaded Media Center
Connected Ipod to Windows machine and explored to removable drive.
Copied all data files to a local folder (C:\mp3s)
Opened Media Center
Import into library
Rename files from properties (mp3 tags)

The End

I have about twenty gigs including audio books loaded right now...

I know it's crazy, but what's really amazing is that I find myself skipping 75% of the songs because "I've heard them recently"...

The human capacity to remember a melody is pretty amazing.

a local company near me has a 60, 80 and 100gb mp3 player. they even have one w/o a hard drive, and you can add in your own standard 2.5" ide hard drive.

I jog for 2 hours a day and do about 1-1.5 hours of weights, 6 days a week. I listen to quite a bit of music, and do in fact need the amount of music I have.
