Just a question. I am a home user, and have a static IP adress. Im just wondering why when ever I visit websites, some will say the correct static ip i have whilst others will say another, but when I view the other websites that tell me the wrong IP adress, all the websites that tell me the wrong one are always telling me that my IP is 220.244.224.41, when I know that isnt my IP. It just seems a bit weird that the websites that tell me the wrong IP all tell me that my ip is 220.244.224.41 when its not

Thats very confusing I know but i couldnt think how to put it any clearer

Thanks

That sounds like you have a transparent proxy server set by your ISP between you and the Internet. The proxy may be set to function on certain web sites/top-level domains where in others, it provides a straight connection. The IP address you are seeing is probably the address of the proxy server.

I have seen this happen at least once on my friend's computer. In those cases where it is active, some TCP ports become inaccessible.
