I noticed the other thread on ATOT I figured I would share mine with you

This is my idea to create 'NDirect', or some form of it.

Well, in the common day cultural city there is a variety of news flow (say you have your corner news stands with paper / magazines, etc). Well what if we had something like a Palm Pilot type device (that would be much simpler) with color display but was used for display / forward and back buttons to sort through output memory. Take that device have a network connection type that is availible anywhere you go in the modern day world....say at the office or in a park, anywhere public that you may go. So where you can just walk up to a news stand, plug it in for a fee of $0.50 (charged to credit card or whatnot) everytime the network is accessed to simply upload the hourly / minutely news including pictures, or simply text or creative headlines. People wouldn't have to walk to a store or a news stand or have to wait in line anywhere- or even wait for the nightly news to be broadcast on TV.

It could be something as simple as adding it to a local college for sort of a LAN atmosphere. Getting a drink of water? Plug in your Ndirect to see current information that your school wanted you to know for that day. Where construction is, what clubs are doing that day, what classes are cancled, etc.

It could be very useful in college or even in a closed corporate atmosphere. Say instead of waiting for an email note from your boss, you could just access it directly before you even turn your computer on.

What do you think?
