This problem started happening last month. I do have IE7 RC1 but I don't know what is causing this problem.
Where ever I have internet shortcuts, like my Favorites or on my Desktop, very randomly at any time (maybe a few days), the shortcut's URL will disappear, and the icon of the shortcut will turn into a default Windows icon. Double-clicking on it brings up thisthis message.
The shortcut is completely dead. I can't even right click on it to specifiy its URL, only the General tab is available. I have to delete it and go back to the website manually and make a new shortcut.
This only happens to 3-4 shortcuts per week, wherever they are located. It's very random. I have no spyware or viruses.
