My internet browser stops working-have to reboot system in order to re-access the net.

My internet browser stops working after a while on the net, sometimes a short while (10 min), sometimes longer.

It gives me the old "This Page Cannot be Displayed" nonsense and keeps giving me the error message no matter what I do.

Then I have to reboot system in order to re-access the net.

I don't think it's my browser (Internet Explorer 6) because I get the same problem behaviour with another browser I have installed (Opera 6.0).

I'm running WindowsME (update version) with a cable connection.

Can someone help me with this problem?

Have you tried pinging anything when this happens? C:\>PING YAHOO.COM

How about traceroute? C:\>TRACERT YAHOO.COM

Anything interesting in C:\>IFCONFIG

Any updated drivers available for your NIC? Even if not, I'd remove & reinstall them again anyway. Maybe even reseat the NIC if you are desperate

You know, this problem was very irratating. But as strangely as it appeared the problem has disappeared.
