Well, I don't do much of the actual putting together but I do help plan a machine. So, I am not going all out, because, well, I'd rather go to Anguilla for two weeks than buy 2x 7800 GT cards or whatever, but around 2-3k (Canadian) for a machine is what I tend to expect. So here goes...

I tried for a well rounded approach, I don't play much in the way of FPS but I do play some car racing games, and dual instances of DAoC, whilst playing mp3s.

MB- DFI LANParty UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert ATX S939 NFORCE4 SLI DDR 2PCI-E16 SATA RAID Sound LAN

CPU- Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Dual Core 1000HT 1MBx2

VID - Leadtek PX6800GT TDH PCX6800GT 256MB PCI-E

MEM - 2x 1GB OCZ PC4000 EB Platinum Edition

SOUND - Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music

HD - 2x Western Digital WD2500KS 250GB 16MB SATA II

Periphs - Logitech G15 keyboard...this keyboard rocks

MON- Viewsonic 19" VP930B BK 1280x1024 1000:1 8ms DVI LCD

CASE- Antec P180 21" Aluminum

PS- OCZ 420W Power Stream w/ConnectAll & EPS12V

I will likely come in close to 3k with taxes. I can write that off at a 100% deduction in one year or over 2 years at 50%. I am not quite sure how Canada Revenue Agency will deal with me writing this off, but I am going to anyway, yay for the home office.

Well let me know what you think.

Well, I already have the memory, I picked it up for 120 USD total at a promo just on Sunday.

Newegg does not ship to Canada...

The cheapest 7800 GT I can get here would seem to be 459 Canadian, the 6800 GT is 349, so I guess I can shell out the extra hundred, thanks.
