My impressions of the Sony G520 - Good at first, now.....

Well I got my G520 today and I got it up and running and I thought I'd share my thoughts.

So far I am highly impressed. Text and graphics are razor sharp and this monitor has the best geometry of any monitor I've ever seen.

My only gripe so far is that the cable supplied with this otherwise excellent piece of hardware is crap. I ordered a high fidelity Belkin cable so that should improve the image quality even further. I'll update this thread after I get that cable installed.

Well, now I am not so pleased.

This monitor is going to have to be returned unfortunately.

This monitor seems to have focus problems. Every few seconds or so the text fuzzes out then comes back into focus. I've never had a monitor do this before. Has this kind of problem ever affected anyone else? What could cause this? It happens across the entire screen, not just part of the screen.

Probably got bumped around during shipping. I would RMA it.

Yeah, I'm sending it back. I ordered the NEC FB2141SB-BK to replace it. This is (as I understand it) the newer model of the 2060u or at least has identical specs.
