I'm afraid of lowering the overall freezer temp because the rest of my food is fine but my ice cream just becomes frozen chunks that is not creamy and really hard to scoop out

I had the same problem a few days ago. I put my ice cream in the microwave and set it to 'defrost' for 1 minute. The ice cream came out soft and creamy. Problem solved
