well it was pretty boring however this went really smoothly as i'm late to the I7 game. The system replaces my C2D E8400 which i had running at 4GHz (9x445) for forever. Reason i replaced it was that the IP35 mobo was starting to have some issues and i got a massive tax return

Read pretty much every single I7 thread here and would like to thank anyone and everyone who made a helpful post in any of those

anyway the good stuff.

Case: LIAN LI PC-V1000BPlus II
CPU: Intel I7-920 D0
HS: Thermalright Venomous X
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R
Ram: 6Gb (3x2Gb) G.Skill Pi series DDR3 1600
Vid Card: GTX 285 OC

Prob gonna leave it where its is now as 4.0Gz on air isn't too bad IMO.

Temps have come down a little since some of these SSes as i reset the HS and replaced some fans.

Its prime stable for 18+ hours on blend same for LinX i just forgot to SS it. I replaced the 3 fans that came with the case (Lian Li Ll121225BL-5s) with 4 Yate Loon D12SL-12, i stuck the 4th one below the 5.25 (just drilled through some mesh covers), The Yates are much quieter and move good air. I will be adding a 2nd GentleTyphoon D1225C12B5AP-15 the VX for push/pull when Newegg gets them back in stock

I prob would have gone with the Megahalem/Mega Shadow if i knew i was gonna have this much room for it. But i wasn't sure as the Ultima 90 i had on my IP35 in this case was a tighter fit due to the slightly higher placement of the CPU socket on the mobo.

OMG, those 920 D0s rock! I'm happy with what I have but sheesh those things are fast. And fantastic OCers.
