My i3 530 @ 4ghz v i5 2320 or i5 760?

Hey,

I have been waiting for BD so SB prices will be knocked down. Since that wont be happening I have to look for alternatives for my new upgrade.

My CPU is fine for gaming, but recently I have begun to live streaming, and the games and my streaming channel take a hit. I need just a tiny bit extra power so my games are as smooth as they are without streaming.

I can barely afford a decent motherboard and the 2500k. If I had the 2500k I would be extremely happy, but It might be overkill for what im looking for. I could happily afford the i5 2320 with the intention of upgrading at a later date, but if its too slow im screwed.

Alternatively I can buy the i5 760 and overclock it to 4ghz+. The 760 would kick the ass off my 530 but the 2500k and whatever comes after would smoke the 760.

If anyone knows of a review with an overclocked i5 760 V the 2500k It would answer my question. Buying the 760 would also free up some money for 8gb of ram which I would not be able to afford with the 2500k.

Sorry if this post is not easy to comprehend .

Hi,

I guess you know almost answered your own question - the 2500k will wipe the floor with a 760. Yea maybe a heavily overclocked 760 would just about keep up, but if you overclock the 2500k too... which I've seen hit 5Ghz... well...

If I was you I'd save up a little and go 2500k.

I probably did already know the answer. I might as well wait for the next price drop.

Thanks for answering my question! When I have no money for food but running that 2500k, I know it will be worth it 🙂

Honsou.
