My humble opinion on the state of the forum

well my other account is above senior... so i have been here for a while. in fact, a bit longer than you flippinfleck. however, that is not important.
about my original post, i wasn't criticizing the members for posting their pics... i was posting against those who fish for compliments. evidently u see the connection between them like i do. well the name is a long story, but true peepers don't peep at pictures, they only settle for real life subjects.

I'm not going to read through all these threads, but I do have something to say:

Deep down inside, we all hurt.

Some of us put on a mask of confidence, some of us wear an armor of bitterness... in the end, we can all be reduced to the same quivering and pathetic mass of humanity.

I have posted pictures of myself before... I didn't do it right away, but after I was here for about a month I did decide to show what I look like. It made me feel good to hear that some people thought I was attractive, and I thank those who were kind enough to say so.

I also told everyone the story of my youth, and why I feel that outer beauty is over-rated. Like everything else on this earth, it fades away.

People can boast and brag and posture until the cows come home. You can use your intelligence, your material wealth, your sexual prowess, whatever it is that you think makes you better than others to boost your ego. It's all the same. Most of us do it to some degree... some of us are even proud of being humble.

Being cute, intelligent, rich, etc does not make you happy and it does not give you inner peace... in fact, the more we rely on material and superficial things for identity, the sadder and lonelier we get. Maybe not at first, but eventually.

Resenting others for having what we *think* we want is even worse, so beware the green-eyed monster.

When I read threads here, I am reading in between the lines. Many people come here for validation and reassurance. That is why you have such strong opposing forces... we all seem to line up on one side or the other, except the few who refuse to do so.

Anyway, this place is just a weird microcosm of the world around us.

If you want it to change, then start with yourself.

If more people worked to understand each other instead of making all the effort to be understood, things would get better.

I know that when I reach a higher status on the boards I like to create a new account to set it back to &quot;Newbie&quot;.

That way everyone is more likely to listen to what I have to say about the forums and how they've gone downhill in the 2 weeks I've been posting.

That or I just try to offend people at random with my posts instead of being positive.

This guy took it to the next level and combined the two.
I can't compete with that.
