supposedly they get into your dry foods, dog food, spices, cereal whatever, and start reproducing like mad. just went to my kitchen at 4:36am to grab some food when I turned on the light, I saw around 7 moths fluttering about. I guess they're not that bad since they don't bite, but they're a terrible nuisance and a b!tch to clean up after you squish them. this sucks.. i'm going to have to throw everything out and get over my bug jeebies and vacuum every crevice.

anyone have any experience with these food monsters?

Why people "squish" any bug is beyond me. Do people like cleaning guts up more than just having the bug around? I cringe at the thought of stepping on bugs then walking around the house with the same shoes like some do. Use RAID or catch & dispose.

Moths just don't "do it" like that. If you're getting moths swarming there's larvae (little caterpillar things) that you're NOT seeing (probably eating in your foodstuff actually!) that eat your stuff. Moths do not put holes in your clothes either, the larvae do.

I had a few invade my room a week or 2 ago, but I haven't seen any sense. ...Which is a good thing because 1 or 2 of them got sucked into my computer radiator. Ick.

You need to clean out all the food in the pantry and check if it's infested with moths. They'll make small holes on plastic packages. Discard anything invested with moths, and seal everything else up in plastic bags/containers. no food = no moths.

You need to find the larvae. We just had some and it turn out they were after some bird seed my wife had stored inside.

I had the same problem, they are hell to get rid of. We put all dry pet foods in the freezer and BAM good night moths.
