For my wife and I, we abstained while dating and engagement. Our first time was during the wedding night :) Three years later, we have a 14mo old and one due in Dec! :D

Lucky and I are currently planning our wedding and all that jazz. I am thinking we would leave for our honeymoon 2-3 days after the wedding. I think that gives us enough time to decompress, visit with our faimlies from out of town, get the house semi back in shape with all the presents and our lives in order BEFORE our honeymoon begins.

As for the lack o'love..your bad. I understand waiting, thats great and all, but I think it works best if both partners wait. We on the other hand love making love. We once were like rabbits but a few years in we are still active, romantic, sensual and naughty so I think we are right on par!!

In regards to sex and the city... keep watching! it gets even better! :)
That is something the new GF and I like to do together. She has every season on DVD. About once a week we watch another episode or two. She has seen all the episodes, but I hadn't seen any of them. We are slowly working our way through and it provides many fun discussions and/or activity ideas.

It is so refressing to now be in a relationship where the woman allows the man to see porn (such as Sex and the City). My ex would be furious if I had seen that show while we were together. If I remember correctly, you are ok with your significant other watching those things, Lola. Or am I confusing you with another woman ATOT poster?

umm ... WTF?!?!?

i hate to break it to you pal but Sex and the City is far from porn. wow your 5 year gf really sheltered your ass, i feel sorry for you but you do sound like a tool. you got trampled all over by her.

and watch real porn WITH your gf ... not just tv shows from HBO. it's a lot of fun to watch hardcore porn with your girl and get ideas.

hmmm sex and the city has porn? I must have missed that episode.....
no, purbeast0 is a dolt.

He is referring to an episode of Sex in the City where that idea was a topic. He is not suggesting that the show is porn.

I would have to agree on both counts. I was completely blinded by all the other great things during the dating period. I truely thought I was the happiest person alive and that we'd be celebrating our 75th wedding anniversary.

I'm sorry that happened to you. Hopefully your current GF will bring you the happiness you thought you'd be getting before.

No kidding...

These statements have different meanings:
Poster said: "It is so refressing to now be in a relationship where the woman allows the man to see porn (such as Sex and the City)."

Apparently, the poster meant: It is so refressing to now be in a relationship where the woman allows the man to see porn (such as ON Sex and the City).

Anyone who waits 5 years of dating without sex until marriage is an idiot.

or you're just someone who doesn't really care whether he's having sex

in any case, waiting 5 years for sex is ridiculous, i agree

Worst week of your life? Sounds like the worst X number of days you spent married to her of your life.

Man what a sad story. Small nitpick - I don't get how they were "lessons learned" though. Lessons are things like "Make sure you love the woman you marry." Not things like "Wife likes blue"

Women marry men hoping to change them ...but they don't.
Men marry women hoping they never change ...but they do.

"life lessons" more appropriate?

hahaha no more truer words out there.
seriously, its one thing that a girl is not a fan of sex, but after a commitment in a relationship, and especially after a marriage, how can any women say that its not okay to the men?

yes sex isn't everything, but ISN'T the idea of "making love" and the cuddling and the foreplay what women want? how can anyone say no to sex for this long this day and age, while at the same time we have little teenage tramps running around getting it on with every single man they can lay eyes on?

Actually I admire people who wait until they are married before having sex. Self control is good.

My former wife didn't change at all when I married her. She was always eager for sex. Both before and after. However, she did get bored being at home all the time with our daughter and got depressed. Meanwhile I took a third shift job and was constantly tired and exhausted because I couldn't get sleep. She stopped helping around the house, which annoyed me. Emotionally cheated on me in an online relationship. So then I really didn't trust her anymore. She was the one to walk out on me though.
I keep thinking it wouldn't have ended if I hadn't taken that job.

:Q
That's just wrong - dating for 5 years and no sex.

Well, you can't exactly physically cheat online. It's more like:

"/me hold holds him close and kisses him softly."

Keylogger, FTW

if you're with a woman and dont have sex for 5 years + FOR WHATEVER reason..then there's something wrong. If you are with the right woman you WILL/WANT have sex...both of you.......that easy :) Physical attraction comes FIRST...without physical attraction and chemistry there is no real hope for ANY relationship.....promises/abstinence..whatever

regarding that other posting above:
"self control is good"...yeah.....and maybe that was your opinion....and maybe that was the reason your wife cheated on you online and then eventually left...i dont THINK that a normal woman wants a guy who thinks "self control" is good and is fine with no sex for years++ :) I think you abstinent guys are making things up because "no sex" is definitly not a good thing ...otherwise you could as well be together with a roomate and NOT with a gf/potential wife :) And then dont be surprised if things wont work out....geeee
