So why am I not more bothered by the number of ladybugs? If there'd been half as many spiders, ants, or even any other beetle in my house, I'd have an exterminator over there today.

Instead, I've shown each one to my daughter before placing them on plants outside.

Also, what gives? Are they coming in because it's gotten a little chilly or something? We did just have our first frost...

The same damn ladybug is probably coming into your house over and over again. It's time to kill that mofo!

I had the same problem yesterday.
I had my window open when I left for work, and I get back home and my house has like 50+ lady bugs in it!?
I've never personally seen anything like it. So I go about rounding all of them up, and set them outside on a bush. Well I get home from work earlier then my girlfriend does, and when she got home I took her outside to see all the ladybugs I rescued. And when we get out to the bush, I don't see any lady bugs. So I look around, and under the bush was a little pile of dead lady bugs?? I'm guessing the colder temps got to them. They were fine in my house, which was about 68°. But when I put them out in the 55° weather, they didn't like it I guess.
So all that work for nothing. :(

Um, those are probably not lady bugs. They bite, let off some stinky goo when bothered, and breed like rabbits. Kill them all. Now.

(I am being serious. Those things will come back in the hundreds next year)

Are you sure they were ladybugs? Or was it some of those biting japanese bettles that look like ladybugs?

This happens every fall at our house. I just take them out to the garage and turn them loose on my citrus trees that are wintering there. The crickets also like to come in in the fall but our cats take care of those for the most part.

Yeah, they did that back home, too - they'd congregate in a corner of the bathroom ceiling, and spend the winter there. It was a group of 20, at most.

They're beneficial insects, and weren't a problem when left alone.

I remember back in elementary school, there was a grouping of 4 poplar trees near the edge of the playground area, and they'd get covered in thousands of ladybugs each year.

If you were asking me, yes I'm sure they were lady bugs. I've seen the beetles that look kind of like them, and those I kill. Well, actually my dog doesn't like insects, so he kills them. :D

Something about our front door attracts them. We probably have 50 of them hanging around when you walk in, no joke :Q

I've seen dorm rooms on campus get invaded by 100s of them...

I never turn on the heat so I never seem to have bug problems. It also probably helps that I'm on the third floor of my hall.

Skace. You've got to do something about them. Really, that's just epically f---ed up.

That happened a lot in my bedroom back in high school when it got cold. I think eventually we sealed up the windows more, even just use some tape temporarily.

Those things stink too when you touch 'em to get rid of them.

They were definitely lady bugs.
