My hl2 discs dont work

Hey guys,

I bought HL2 game of the year edition while back but never got around to installing it. Now, none of the discs work. The spin up really fast but nothing ever starts.

My question is, if I have the CD key, can i download hl2 and css from steam?

If you activated HL2 to your account already, u dont need the keys or the cds.

Well that was weird, was going to download steam when I put in the 3rd disk just for kicks. It kept saying wrong disc so i put in disc one, and it asked for disc 4, clicked cancel like 6 times and the install screen came up. 😕
Finally got this thing going, anyone wanna play some source? 😀

Wait, after installing like 5 disks steam still needs to install 800mb of stuff? This sucks.
