My highest PPD yet...

That's good work for one card. Now that you've got the crunching bug, I wonder how long it will be until you put together a second crunching rig?
 
That will be a good while from now but it will happen someday. Make a farm maybe.

What I am thinking about though is upgrading to a GTX 260. Seeing as though the 4870 doesn't seem to crunch nearly as well and gaming is more or less equal.

I'm wondering if a mid-release driver change alone could be responsible for the 2700 PPD increase you saw. Especially since others are not seeing any increase at all. With the 177.35, my 8800GTS (G92,512MB) is nearly 5,400PPD to begin with.

I think the main difference in the 177.35 and the 177.83 are the physX features. (don't apply to f@h)

but either way, thanks your heads-up on new versions come out. :beer:
