my heatsink has these 2 rubber things...

i purchased a igiloo2500 heatsink, and it comes wit thermal compound preapplied, but theres these 2 rubber things on the side of it. what are these for? am i supposed to take them off or leave em? HELP!

I think that you leave those on. They probably level the cooler so it doesn't shift about on top of the cpu. Are they adhesive like double-stick foam tape or just foam rubber? BTW, there's a much better picture of it at newegg (the 2500 Pro at least).

It's foam rubber. so ur 100% sure i just leave them on? i don't want to f-up my cpu.
