My Koss KSC-35 are making this loud rattling noise when I play music and it gets louder when I turn up the music. Has anyone else had this problem before? I'm trying to figure out what I can do to fix it or to send it in for warranty. These are my only set of portable cans so its driving me nuts. I listen to them for almost 2-3 hours a day going and coming back from school.

update: they sent me the ksc-50s....

It sounds like you blew your headphones.

I never play them too loud so I don't know how I could have blown them. They spend a good deal of the time in the back of my bookbag in the pleather bag that they came in. Hopefully it wasn't the physical abuse that did them in. In any case any chance of me fixing it on my own?

Do does that mean its time to refer to its lifetime warranty?

If its sounding horrible, that would usually point to yes, refer to the warranty.

try and open it up and take the hair out of the driver. thats most likely it, it's not like these phones to blow out. if you use the lifetime warranty they will probably send u the newer but crappier KSC-50.

i took off the cover and whatever else i could without ripping the unit apart...i shook it and tried to find any loose dirt/fragments to no avail...i didn't want to destroy the thing and void my warranty...do you have anything in mind I could try?

Does anyone have any experience w/ koss warranty?

Dude I have the same problem a long while ago.

I contacted Koss' customer service and they said that since the KSC-35 is discontinued, they would replace it with the KSC-50 which is != KSC-35 at all.

They now have the KSC-75 which looks very similar to the KSC-35.. you can try going for that?
