My HD is broken...help me

Ok, so I have my uncle's computer and I can't figure out how to fix it. The bios recognizes the hard drive but when I boot from a DOS bootdisk, and run FDisk it says that there is no fixed disk present. What can cause something like that?

Try a different drive cable, move it to the secondary channel, check jumpers, try the drive in another computer

Thanks.... I guess that there is something that is wrong with the board.... everything else is working ok.

i duno why fdisk wont see it, but i've seen boot disks where DOS wont recognize the hdd.

try getting a windows drive to see if it finds it
