I just noticed it today but after i booted i noticed i was getting a thrum sound periodically coming from my hard drive i think. It goes thrum, waits a little then goes thrum again and this goes on as longas i have it running. It's either my seagate or my IBM drive. Is this bad or do you think i just thinkmy case is resonating with a little vibration?

Sounds like resonance to me. Check to make sure all of your drives are bolted in tight so that they cannot vibrate along with this resonance, as vibration is bad... ;)

I've been listening to it for a while and it only does it some times. If i put my hand on the drive cage it stops. Got to be resonance. Darn it, i'm out of screws that fit though.

I noticed the exact same problem after I installed my 45gig 75gxp!!

I'm not quite sure what it is and I already tightened the screws as far as they go. Is this some sort of quirky defect? It gets really annoying because that's the only thing I hear when I'm not playing any music.

At least now I know I'm not the only one with this problem... are there any possible solutions out there?
