I have a strange problem that has confounded me for the last two days.
You can see below what my system specifications are.
I decided to re-format my main SATA drives in RAID 0 and reload WinXP Pro. After doing so I powered on my IBM ATA drive that had my Win98 SE OS on that was part of my dual boot system. I copied off some picture files from the drive and then using WinXP. Selected the drive using the ?My computer? window and selected ?Format?.
I wanted to erase the Win98 OS and all the files and data off the drive, reboot and use it as extra storage and backup.
Well once I did this the drive was no where to be found. It has disappeared completely from my bios and WinXP hardware screens.
What?s the deal with that?
What did I do wrong this time?
Can anyone offer me a clue as to what?s going on with this?
All the bios setting for IDE are set to "Auto". The drive is set as a Master and plugged into the #1 IDE slot on the MB.
It?s as if the drive has failed completely or something.
Thanks for the help.
Steve
