Where's half dome? Your title seems a bit misleading.

Good work getting there without many people on the cables. Those things can be a horrific traffic jam.

Tire of uploading? After 2 pics? Especially considering one was posted last week? You tire easilly.

Just kidding. I've never heard of Half Dome. So, do you have a picture of half dome from far away? I would love a 16 mile hike in an area like that.

Oh, never knew you could hike up there. Only seen it from afar and looks like you'll have to climb to get to the top.

Half Dome BTW is a very large rock that supposedly was sheared in half by some slipping glacier a long time ago.

It is located in Yosemite National Park. In California, USA.
If you start in the Valley at one of the Campgrounds. It is about a 16 mile round trip, depending on which trail you take, one is about a mile longer, but much easier than the other. We took the longer one up, the shorter one down. I think it was like 9 miles up, and 7 miles back.

Damn, it was a lot more crowded when I climbed it!... pics coming soon

We started at about 6:35 in the morning, and ate lunch at the top at 10:50, we passed about 10 groups on the way up, and there were only about 5 people up there when we finally go to the top. We screwed around on the top and then it got sorta crowded on the way down. Ill try to post some pics later of the crowded cables.

I think we made it back to the campsite (lower pines) at about 3:30 but I don't quite remember, I was very very tired. Slept 13 hours that nite. :p

Here's a pic of crowded cables from the second time I climbed half dome. half dome cables

Unfortunately a thunderstorm was nearby and about half way up the cables I hit a huge crowd of people fleeing the top so I turned around and went down too. Good thing since it started raining a few minutes later with loud thunder very close and the top of half dome is the last place you want to be in a thunderstorm.

Was that from glacier point?

If I remember correctly, that was taken from Curry Village in the valley, right below Glacier Point.

Oh I couldn't tell because it sort of looked like you took it from higher up than the valley floor. I really like it, since you don't see very many halfdome pictures from that angle.
