Yesterday I was able to play The Witcher 2, Borderlands 2, Deus Ex Human Revolution, and Half Life 2 with absolutely no problems. All on the best visual settings these games were running great. Today I turn my pc on and there is slight lag when I play them. (I go to jump and a half a second later I actually jump, etc.).

Any ideas what could have changed? And how to fix my problem.

My System:

Intel i7 2700k running 3.5ghz
16gm ddr3 ram, latency 8-8-8-9
EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 680
Samsung 256GiB SSD
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB HDD
ASRockZ77 Pro4

Virus, Trojan, other malware
Some other program you installed using too much CPU time (try control-alt-del)
Internet connection problem (might just need to power off router, wait, power on)
Dying hard drive

Sounds like a CPU usage issue moreso than a GPU issue. Run the games and look at your CPU usage. What % is it going at? Is there any processes using up a huge sum of it?

Change the batteries in your wireless keyboard......? :p

For serious.. I would check your CPU usage as stated above. Especially at idle while viewing your desktop. If you are seeing 25% usage or more while doing nothing I would think it could be malware/Virus related.
