Older: My First Film:

Bank of Liberty.
A mysterious man steals computer data from an accountants office in the famed "Bank of Liberty". Can he make it out alive? Runtime: 9:57.
YouTube (High Quality)

It gets dark outside as the video progresses and makes it hard to see, especially with the white YouTube background. I suggest watch in a dark setting in full screen with high quality selected. Due to an error (bottom of post), this will only be posted on YouTube in its current form.

nice video, great ending. Captured GTA well, loved when the Cop slid and hit the light poll knocking it down in the first minute. That's GTA to me, Cop's who drive like renegade maniacs.

You have me wanting to make my own GTA video now.

Great video...good work mate! The shootout in the tunnel and the ensuing chopper sequences were awesome! 🙂

Btw, what's the name of the song you used at the intro of the video?

Very cool.

Two minor picked up gripes I'd have if I was picky...

1) When the white suited guy runs from the bank, one scene shows him with his shotgun, the next he is running without it and then it goes back to him with his shotgun out. This felt a little odd.

2) Music. I feel some upbeat track going through it, almost like a Need For Speed trailer-esque soundtrack at certain parts of the trailer would heighten the tension and pump the adrenaline of the viewer.

Besides that, very well made and a pleasure to watch.

Thanks for the comments.

-The name of the first song is: Leave Home (From the Gone in 60 seconds soundtrack)
-Good call with the shotgun. I'll be sure to keep better track next time 😀
-I agree about the music being able to have some areas of added tension. I've got a pretty expansive library to look through and I plan to spend more time on the next one. If the video editor didn't trash 30% of the editing I did and didn't leave me with an old rendered video I woulda felt compelled to make this much nicer.

Thanks again for the feedback yall.

Thanks for letting me know the name of the song. Will be looking forward to your new video!

nicely done, i didn't know you can do that in GTA IV.... well, i ignored the video editor while i'm playing the game.....

also, i was expecting the actual bank and not the law office... since i did both missions i could tell what buildings they were, but overall, love the falling chopper...

Pretty awesome indeed. It's also pretty awesome that the film editor let's you do this, and make such great movies.

If rockstar is any good, they set up some kind of competition ...

Sadly there is no way to enter the bank after you complete the mission. Also, there is supposedly a cheat that can get you inside the bank after the mission however, most of my footage/film takes place online with other actors, and since MP doesnt allow for cheats.. the building's locked forever 🙁

They actually did set up a competition believe it or not. When I was about 95% done with the film, Rockstar annouced a 2-3 day video challenge. The editor at that time, conviently stopped loading my video so I couldn't edit it anymore. The high amount of clips I used (96 out of an untold max of 100), probably caused it. The videos were required to be sent to their Social Club website in order to be counted.

this is great practice if you want a career in movies.

.. lol I wish... I wish there was money to be made starting out in the film business. I'm actually a college student (3 years in) with no real degree/major.... and film would be down right amazing... except I don't feel comfortable making 20k a year in an unstable job market.. 🙁

Oh and btw, I'm going to begin work on a new film soon. If you have the game, have ventrilo, and wanna act - hit me up 🙂

Well be sure and post a link on here when yo're done.
I'm sure i'll enjoy watching it.

Either the editor is too easy to use and makes any edited video look professional.
Or you've got some serious talent.
I'm betting on the later.

I'm always skeptical about using voice acting but I do completely agree that the trailer could have used some sound effects. I rendered the trailer using the GTA editor the day before and it had music attached to it. So I couldn't seperate the sound effects with the music. The only thing I could do at the time was completely eliminate the music track put in the GTA render and put in the one I used.

Awesome video, particularly the action scenes near the end with the Turismos, RPGs and helicopters. A few things though that you may want to clean up, just for the sake of plausibility/clarity:

1) The opening Majestic scene. Seems a bit odd that you'd have 4 hitmen go to the hotel to kill a clerk in a sweater, sparking a city-wide man hunt. Perhaps have them go in and hit a VIP, maybe at a bar or lobby table?

2) When the guy in the top hat is captured (again, seems odd they'd try to apprehend rather than KoS), he just walks unescorted to the paddy wagon. Again, seems a bit implausible.

Still a great video and well worth watching, very enjoyable! And GTA4 is awesome too, makes me wish I had a Core i7 though heh.
