Hey folks I just got word from my father that his mother just died. I was very close to her, plus I lost my grandfather just, her husband of over 65 years, just 2 years ago. I am very lucky, because I do have such a close knit family. This is a heartbreaker though, because it is like I lost the last little bit of my grandfather. These are the ones who taught me the most valuable lesson in life: Always be able to work with your hands, because there is always someone out there willing to pay you to do what they do not want to do.
The fondest memory I have is sitting in his lap whil "helping" him to drive the tractor plowing the field getting it ready for the corn or soybeans to be planted, and then her bringing us a jug of icewater in one of those old glass oraqngejuice jugs. After that she would go home and finish tending her rose bushes. She alway drove that red Maverick.
Well, that is what they are doing now, he is plowing a field of soybeans, and she has his icewater ready, then she will go home and tend the roses.
