i received that piece of wisdom from an indian guy who grew up in chicago and moved to east texas (home of the KKK) after college.

he said the north is way more racist, especially rural areas.

Hmmm... for some reason I can't actually think of many cases of blatant racism. In fact, the only cases I can think of are Native Hawaiians with "Go away whitey!" signs in their front yards.

LOL michigan has the highest concentration of KKK members out side of alabama or something. But thats because in the 40's, alot of African Americans moved up for auto jobs...

i think it has more to do wtih the fact that the american south is the most integrated place on the planet with more contact between people of various races on a daily basis than anywhere else in the world.
