My grandma has been an artist most of her life. She is always very modest of her work and of course every one she knows disagree's that her art is anything but good. Here are some of her paintings.

Brazil Market Place
Kentucky Farm House
Rabit Hash Kentucky
Field House
Purple Flowers
Purple Flower
Pink House

These arent her best, but these are the only ones I have on my PC. She sometimes sells her paintings, she charges around the $120 marker for original paintings. Every closet in the house is piled high with prints, paintings and Gclay's. Every painting in the house is painted by her. Its all over the place, I should convince her to sell alot of the junk off on ebay.

Your g-ma is seriously undercharging. See if you can hook her up with Weyland Galleries or some other national art chain. I bet she'd do very well.

Never underestimate the power of marketing. This guy makes paintings of martinis "velvet elvis" style and he's the #1 selling artist in the USA. Any artist with a good story (Grandma) and a unique look will sell. And as you so vividly pointed out, art is a very subjective thing. One person's masterpice is another person's dart board.

10/10. Anything better than what I make is a 10 in my book. I paint and draw like a spastic monkey on acid.

Shenkoa- ya i might be a jerk but not for that comment. notice how i told him i wasnt saying it in a disrespectful manner? well no disrespect was meant but you cant say someone is really great when they arnt.

Descartes- youre an idiot. i won best in show twice for my mixed media work with oil pastels and chalk. Ive sold 3 acrylic paintings for ~$70 each. i dont have pictures of my work on my comnputer because i have the actual pictures. it doesnt make sense for me to have them on here otherwise i would show you.

Pablo- ill take your bet. i go home in a week. ill take pictures of works in progress and post them with a poll. after 75 total votes in the poll we will see whos better. If you win ill paypal ya the $20. if i win you paypal me the $20 and blow me. you have to do more if i win because of the general douchey nature of your post

i didnt say it wasnt nice. you can throw colors at a canvas (jackson polok) and make it look nice to alot of people. that doesnt mean it somethen amazing or awesome.

Amazing and awsome are points of view, the paintings are awsome to a lot of people. Your not one of them. The work is more then paint thrown at a canvas.

Very nice paintings.. I only looked at 2 (on dial-up). After looking at "Old Joe", I was thinking that her signature is proportionally, too large for the painting. But, on the picture of the purple flowers (irises?), it's perfect. She's excellent with watercolors. Her type of "art" is, in my opinion, far superior to a lot of the "art" being shown in some galleries.

i didnt say the gma's work was paint thrown at a canvas. my point was different people see things differently. which you just said. i happen to have a fairly strong backround in art and i see this as not that good. i dont know how many of you saying how great that is have that same backround/education in the subject.
