My grandma is dying

She's been very sick this last week. And my father just got a call from one of his mother's friends saying that she isn't doing well at all, and she is going to the hospital. Well, my dad is packing his bags, and is headed up now. We live in NH, and she lives in Northern ME. So its about a 7 hour drive. He wants to make the trip by himself, but thats not a good idea, so my mom is going too. He came in my room with my brother and my mom, and he told us all what is going on. He couldn't finish, and it's the first time I have ever seen my dad cry. I don't know what to do. They don't want my brother or me to go up with them.

I'm not sure. The only reason I would go would be because it might help her. It always makes her happy when I come to tell her about how school is going for me. But I'm just not sure if I would get in the way or something....They already left anyways. So I dont have a choice now.
 
Do it - My Grandma died just before christmas, and literally days before I was going to see her. I'd not seen her in a while with all my uni work. I really regretted not getting to see her before she died.

🙁 Sorry to hear man. It might be better this way, my grandma died from cancer and the picture of her in the bed still haunts me. 🙁
 
My parents just got word of how she is doing! They said that when my gram got to the hospital, she was met by so many of her friends that some of them had to even wait outside. And I guess that this support really helped! I was told that she suffered from a MILD heartattack, and she is looking MUCH better. She has gained much of her color back. My parents will arrive in about 2-3 more hours I believe.
