My GPU temp is much higher than my CPU temp. Normal??

I have PIV 1.6a overclocked to 133FSB, 2.13 GHz, at 1.6 Vcore. Using Thermaltake Dragon 478 heatsink/fan, with Artic Silver 3, and the fan controller setting set at low (around 3800-4000 rpm, i think).

I have VisionTek Geforce 3 Ti/200, overclocked to 220MHz/500MHz using the registry heck, (don't know if this is actually heck, but using a file that I downloaded from HardOCP, puts an option in the display setting's where I can change the frequency of core and ram). Just changed the stock heatsink fan to the Thermaltake Crystal Orb, again using Artic Silver 3.

I have MSI 645 Ultra board, which apparently has temperature sensors that do not work. So I have two CompuNurse temperature monitor probe. One I attached right next to the CPU under the heatsink, not between the heatsink and CPU, but right next to it so it will touch the CPU core. I have the other probe on the back side of my video card, around the area where the GPU lies.

Right now, I am surfing the web, so not much load. The temperatures read 37.4 C for the one attached to video card, and 30.4 C for the CPU.

Is this normal?? If I put some load, like play CS or run PCMark2001, the CPU will rise to around 38-40 C, and the GPU will rise to about 41.8 C.

I just think that the CPU temperature should be much higher, but i could be wrong.......

Sorry for the long post, but I didn't wanna leave anything out.

Thanks,
Slim

I have the same thing going on on my system, my G3ti200 is usually at 44-48 at 230/530 and my XP 1700+ CPU 39-45 depending on activity. How do you get so low temps? What's your ambient temp? mine usually around 29C

If I turn the computer off, the temps will go down to like 26-29 C.

I have a lot of fans. One intake at front bottom, one exhaust in rear under power supply, my power supply is antec one with two fans, I have one fan blowing in air (not that strong, the silencer) from side over the video card, and I have harddrive coolers (3 small fans blowing in at each harddrive) on my two harddrives.

If I put the CPU fan controller to Low, there ain't that much noise, about that same as Intel Stock fan, just a tab louder.

Well, as long as GPU temps are not suppose to be lower than the CPU, i guess I'm okay

thanks
