Well, that sucks. At a maximum, it sees.... ZERO satellites.

Going to take it to another location tommorrow, and if it doesn't come alive then, I'm going to have to RMA it :(

Already walked around the neighborhood with the laptop. And around the park. Both of which are VERY dangerous things to do in this town in broad daylight, much less at night.

But never once did it see a satellite :(

Seems like the antenna is missing, or something (it's not disconnected and loose, because nothing's rattling around - sadly, it's not user serviceable because it's watertight.

It doesn't have a diagnostic mode that shows the signal levels?

What model, and I presume it wasn't a handheld.

They usually need a bit of time to download the satellite almanac when first used, or moved over 500 miles while turned off.

It's an el-cheapo GPS puck, there are only 2 chipsets in existance for the pucks, really, and this is the more common of the two. I know several other people with the same model, so it's not like it's a bad product or something, I just got a bum unit.

And it's had a couple of hours, most of which has been spent sitting in a spot with clear line of sight to the southern sky. Not a damned thing.

Not a handheld. Presumably I could get some software to do that, though....

Ran some diagnostics, it sees TWELVE satellites, but all of them have an SNR of 0....

And there's NOT that much noise here, unless there's a GPS jammer set up somewhere.

I told you not to stick it up your Hamster's butt ;)

Dude, she hasn't even seen it yet. FedEx stuffed it up THEIR butts.

;)

Pics? Of the GPS, not the Hamster, or Fedex, or butts of either party ;)

I have one of these...

It doesn't work close to my house. In fact, I have to drive maybe 1/4-1/2 mile towards the highway till I get any type of signal...
