My god, what is wrong with me?

I've had the flu many, many times before... but I never remember it being this bad. The usual really sore throat, slight difficulty breathing, fever... what worries me is that I'll lay down for a few seconds (anywhere from 30 seconds to an hour or two), and I'll find it difficult to get back up and stay standing; a few times I've almost fallen over. I can't stand straight without my head throbbing and pounding. My eyes are sensitive as well; I'm surprised I can even stare at the computer screen long enough to post this.

Is this just a really bad flu or something?

sounds like it...take something for your fever and the pain (4 motrins work well for me) and get some rest

Yes to both, lift weights and run three times a week, and I eat a balanced diet. Today's been off, just lots of water and some soup.

Grr that sucks then! If you were lazy and ate bigmacs I'd say it was your own fault, but as it sounds like you don't then it sounds like it isn't :( Maybe see a doctor then :)

for sure.. take some asprin or tylenol, get lots of sleep, eat well when you can.. should be gone in a few days.

The thought has crossed my mind, several times. I was born in 83, and received several blood transfusions around that time. AIDS wasn't huge, but IIRC there weren't as many safeguards in place. However, no symptoms have shown up in 19 years, and nothing has arisen in blood tests, so I've never been really worried about it.
