My Gmail sent out spam, what to check for?

Leros

My email account recently sent out spam messages to everybody on my contacts list. The emails showed up in my sent folder, so I assume they actually got into my account.

My recent activity in my gmail (where it shows the last 5 IPs that connected) doesn't go back far enough for me to see the time the messages were sent. But a few hours later I saw an access from California (I'm from Texas).

I changed my gmail password. I ran spybot and it didn't find anything.

I have two computers:

1) Vista 32-bit running Microsoft Forefront.
2) Windows 7 64-bit running Microsoft Forefront.

Is there anything else I should do to make sure I'm clean?

I've done that. I'm just wondering how they got my password in the first place.
Maybe guessing your secret security question?

Well, probably not, since using that probably RESETS your password. And you seem to still be able to access your Gmail account.
