So my gmail account just got hacked. I know google can restore it IF I am able to convince them that I am indeed the owner of the account, but I am worried about establishing that fact.

I enter my login info and get a message that it is incorrect. I click "Can't access your account?" Then I select that I think my account has been compromised. This makes me enter my gmail email address and they send instructions for me to fix it to a random yahoo email that I forget. It is displayed as *******@yahoo.com

I've had this account for near 5 years, I have no IDEA what other emails I had at the time. Back then I probably didn't even enter correct personal information into the forms or legit secret questions.

So it now tells me that I have 24 hours before I can really do anything else if I no longer have access to that account. I can't do anything else, but I am so nervous about what might happen to all my personal information contained in my account. All my 5 years worth of saved conversations, account confirmation emails for other accounts, etc.

So anyway, I filled out another form that asked me questions like when I think my account was created, when it was last accessed, etc. I really don't know half this information, but I do know when it was last accessed. I went on it, and left for thirty minutes, and when I came back it was taken.

I am hoping that they will be able to match my IP with the one that sent the password request, and that at least some of my responses are accurate. But I want this account back now, god only knows what might happen in 24+ hours.

That's unfortunate. That happened to me earlier this year. I was quite frustrated too, but luckily for me after the 24 hours thing, I remembered who I e-mailed a lot when I first had the account. I put that information in and I got my account back. Changed my password and lots of other passwords.
