I spent last weekend with her. In sunday she complained that she's not feeling very well. We thought it's nothing serious and I went back home. She just called me and told me that she felt really nauseous through the night and she threw up. She couldn't sleep because of that and she can't eat or drink anything. She went to see a doctor and they took some tests. They believe that it could be her appendix. She's seeing the doctor again later today.

In worst-case scenario they will have to remove her appendix. Not a major operation, but I'm still worried for her :(. I would like to be with her since she's propably afraid. But I can't right now (I'm at work and she lives about 40 kilometers from here) :(.

I hope she will feel better soon.

Make sure they test her for Diverticulitis. It is often times misdiagnosed as appendicitis. I know, had it happen to me back in January. They had me all prepped for surgery before the doc decided at the last minute to run a CT scan on my abdomen and see exactly what was going on.

I just managed to reach her mother. She's seeing the doctor again. They took another blood-test, and depending what the test tells them, she might end up having the surgery. But they have not ruled out any options yet. She feeling really tired right now. I hope she pulls through, it pains me to know that she's not feeling well :(.

I know how you feel. Nothing is worse than knowing someone you love is feeling any kind of pain... you would probably rather be in her situation than to have her go through it in this case. But that is considered routine... though no surgery is 100% safe. I had an emergency spleenectomy in Nov. 98 and the docs couldn't tell me it was 100% safe. But I was confident since it's been done so many times... no worries... appendectomy(?) - if that's what it is - is not all that bad. Best of luck.

dont worry too much if it is appendicitis, it is a very routine surgery and she should have no complications. hope she gets better soon.

I know you are worried but, come on, hope she pulls through?
You know how many people have their apendixes removed?
You know how many die from it?

Seriously, she may feel bad right now but she will be fine. Don't get worried and upset. She'll be taken care of.

Well, they put her on a IV and she started to immediately feel better :). And she also started to cheer up a bit. She was badly dehydrated since she couldn't eat or drink anything (she would throw up if she tried).

So far so good.

I had my appendix removed when I was like 10 and had zero complications. I was scared of the surgery but I didn't care as long as they got rid of the stupid pain on my lower right side. Still have the marks where they cut me open, about 3 inches long.

Hope she feels better soon!

I know all that. Removal of appendix is a routine procedure. But girl I love is in pain and she's not feeling well. I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm worried for her, I would be ashamed if I weren't worried. It might be illogical to be worried because of a routine-surgery, but I'm still worried. Humans are illogical beings.

It's awful when someone you love is in pain, and there's nothing you can do about it. And routine operation or not, there are always risks involved.

She just called me. She's feeling better, but she will spend the night at the hospital. They are still figuring out that is the appendix or something else.

For a bit there I thought she might be.......you know, with child.

Hopefully it's just appendicitis. Best wishes. :)

Wanna compare scars? Mine (from the aforementioned spleenectomy) is 6 inches vertical with my belly button acting as the centerpiece. They said it would go away in a year. Hah! It's been 4.
