I mistakenly left a check in my pants pocket. Girlfriend did the laundry this morning. Check is pretty much in pieces. Is it my fault for not emptying my pockets? Or her fault for not checking the pockets before putting them in the washer?

***Edited****

My pants were on the ground in the bedroom. It was the pants I wore last night. I came home late, took off my clothes, and hopped into bed. I left early this morning to do a photoshoot. I didnt think she'd do laundry this morning.

Your fault. All pockets in the laundry room is assumed to be clear of items, assuming these were in the laundry room.

Think about it... Do YOU check the pockets of everything before you throw it the washer? I know that I don't!

If she is going to do the laundry without telling you she should check the pockets. It is her fault. One reason I will not allow my GF to do my laundry unless I have checked and sorted it first. This is not a huge deal though you just need to have the check reissued.

You were a dumbass for not emptying your pockets. Be glad you have a g/f that actually does laundry.

If you blame it on her you don't deserve her. Thank her for doing your laundry and apologize for even considering it was her fault that YOU left a check in your pants.

Since you're here asking we know you already screwed up. Now go apologize and just maybe you'll spend the evening playing snugglebunnies instead of posting on ATOT.

Looks like you already have it figured out. Why the thread?

I'd ask you to turn in your man card but I bet you already apologized for her running it through the wash.

Im convinced. It was my fault. When i pulled the laundry out, bits and pieces of the check fell to the ground. We both laughed about it. No big deal I guess since it was written for an insignificant amount.
