I bought this AM2 mb a year ago when I put together my Athlon X2 system. Now I thought the Phenoms needed AM2+ so never considered one. But looking at my mb on the Gigabyte home page,
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Sup...el.aspx?ProductID=2579
it says it can take Phenom processors but what does this fine print at the bottom of the page mean?

*Note: If you install AMD AM2+ CPU on AM2 motherbord, the system bus speed will downgrade from HT3.0(5200MHz) to HT1.0(2000 MT/s) spec; however, the frequency of AM2+ CPU will not be impacted. Please refer "CPU Support List" for more information.

Does this mean Phenoms won't run at full capacity on this mb? If it will run fine, is there really any need to upgrade to one from a 6000+ X2?

I think it just wont get as much memory bandwidth as it would on an AM2+ motherboard. I think it would also need 1066MHz Ram to take advantage of the extra bandwidth but dont quote me on that.
