I recently bought an ATI 8500 retail 275/275 for my AMD 2000+ 512 DDR 2700 computer with an gigabyte 7vxrp motherboard. whenever I tried to run 3dmark 2001, it would crash right after the low detail truck. I tried to use different version of the 8500 bios as well as different version of gigabyte bios and no help. I have rip out everything on my computer, and it sitll wouldn't run. Please help.

I'm running an 8500LE 128 with a Soyo Dragon Plus, and it would freeze up randomly on a few tests, notably the Vertex Shader, the Dragon/Goth demo, and one other I can't remember. It's also locking up on Counter Strike, but I haven't tried it with the ATI fix yet. I figured it was a heat issue (my case is open, so barely any air blowing), so I'm not running anything intensive until I get my new case +6 fans tomorrow. If anyone has any info though, post it up!

don't know about the dragon plus, but theres a known compatibilty issue with the radeon 8500 and gigabyte 7vrxp board. check out amdmb.com forums or rage3d forums for more info. i had this combo awhile back, and it was not stable either...i switched the motherboard to a msi board, and no more problems. good luck.

Well, I finally got mine going, and I got a 4490 running the demos at 1024x768. Something's definitely not right here. Granted, it was at AGP 2x (I heard there's some stability problems with 4x) but that shouldn't make the scores THAT low.
